i'm boiling off solvent today. sometimes it works better than other times...don't know why. there is a good explanation of
how to rotovap. the basics are you reduce the pressure and solvent boils. sometimes it boils nicely for me other times it bumps and spatters when i am boiling off water ... today it is being nice, yay =).

i tried to leave a message that i wanted to copy the picture of the moose.... but it wouldn't take it... how can i get that picture on my computer?
my theory is nucleation sites... maybe it works better with more poris beakers (like old etched up pyrix). using a little teflon pill thingy to stir it might be interesting experiement.
ummm first off all my glassware is pyrex (or knock off of pyrex). second... did you read how to rotovap? you can't magnetically stir that well when the vessel is rotating.
third: i use the same flask pretty well all the time and same cleaning procedure.
